Trib String

What do the French eat?
I’m doing a Word Within a Word project for school with my friend, and we have to make up a menu for a restaurant. We’re both taking French, so we decided to do a French restaurant, but now that we started we can’t figure anything out! Help please?!?!
Here’s the list of stems:
germ (vital or related)
greg (group)
pyro (fire)
string (bind)
liber (free)
junct (join)
se (apart)
trib (pay)
medi (middle)
soph (wisdom)
tempor (time)
trans (across)
gamy (marrige)
Thanks so much!
Well, I’m not sure exactly what you want. Do you want us to think of foods that we would associate with the words you list?
Anyway, I’ll just tell you what my boyfriend and I ate the last time we went to our favorite French restaurant:
Entree:
Me: Salade de foie gras de canard (salad with fatty duck liver)
Him: Grenouilles avec persil et ail (frogs with parsley and garlic)
Another good option I almost got: Lobster (homard) salad
Plat:
Both: steak (rare) cooked in a cognac and cream sauce, served with potatoes au gratin and roasted fennel
Cheese course:
Me: fresh white cheese
Him: assortment of cheeses (brie, tomme, comte, chevre, reblachon)
Dessert:
Me: sort of an egg-white based custard (not quite a meringue, not quite a souffle), with a passion fruit jelly on top
Him: Sorbet and ice cream
Coffee after dessert, white wine with entree, red wine with plat
It’s a very typical meal in a French restaurant here. I don’t know if it helps with your project though!
For the fire word … maybe you can do Fondue? It’s traditional in some areas of France, like Rhone-Alpes. Or a tarte flambe? Traditional to Alsace.
