Rare Rock
For SERIOUS mineral and rock collectors – what is a rare gem or stone species to try to buy?
I need to buy a gift for someone who is a serious rock and gemstone collector – they prefer the raw specimens and are actually a geologist – without asking them – I want to know what would be a rare but unique list of items I can try to buy that might be harder to get or rarer to find – that will be a sure hit with them??
A nice Eurypterid fossil would make a great addition to any serious rock, mineral and fossil collector. A complete fossil is a rare comeby.
New York State is a Eurypterid hothouse, in fact, it is our state fossil, here is a site that carries some very fine specimens….
